Last night Jaden decided he wanted to play basketball. It's a good thing that we have a basketball hoop in our basement. He was playing for a while and feeling pretty proud of himself for scoring so many points when he came over to me. He said, "Coach, how am I doing." "Great!" I told him. "What color is my basketball shirt?" he asked. "I don't know, what color is it?" He told me it was blue. I asked him what the name of his team was. He thought for a minute, "The Colorcateers. The team I am playing is wearing purple shirts and their name is the Computercateers. They like to play computer all day long." "Oh, I guess that is why you are beating them in basketball," I said. All night long he called me coach. This morning when he got up he wanted to play more basketball with the Computercateers, "because remember Mom, I am a Colorcateer."
Jaden had his preschool Christmas program on Tuesday night. He did so well. I was a little nervous just because everyone knows how Jaden likes to play for a crowd. You never know just what he might do. The classes all came in one by one singing Jingle Bells. Most of the classes you could kind of hear singing, but when Jaden's class came in he was loud and clear. He definitely likes to sing and has no stage fright. When they got up on the risers he was right in the middle in the back row. All of the kids were waving at their parents and grandparents. Some of them were saying hi too. Jaden was waving like a mad man and yelling, "Hi Momma, Hi Daddy, Hi Grammie, Hi Grandpa!" He sang all of the songs great and did all of the motions. After the program was over he got to show Grammie, Grandpa, Barb, Dan and Pete his class room. The highlight of the night for Rachel was the cupcake she got in Jaden's room. Gretchen kept trying to eat some too, but we didn't let her.
Today is full of cleaning house, laundry and packing so we can head of the Thief River tomorrow. Hope everyone is ready for Christmas!! :)
