Yet another day at our house...

Just thought I'd do little update...since I'm trying to be a little better at keeping everyone up to date with what's going on.

We spent the 4th with Bob's parents and it was a VERY relaxing day. We just hung out all day, ate, the kids played...a very enjoyable day. We left their house at 9:50 and decided to quick drive through Excelsior to see if we could see any of the fireworks from the van. I was just too tired to walk all the way across town, sit in all of the bugs, and deal with at least 2 cranky kids to actually go and watch them this year. We got up nice and close and watched them from the van...it was so great. We should have had no problem getting out since we were already in the van and started to take off as soon as they were done, however...a car...three in front of us...decided that he would just sit there and wait for his family and hold up traffic...and that's the reason it took us two hours to get out of Excelsior and get on our way home. PTL for the movies in the van...it kept the kids happy until they finally fell asleep.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low key too. Last night we took the kids to Dairy Queen after dinner. How did we make it all the way into July without going yet this year. Jaden ate his whole sundae without spilling a drop...Rachel ate hers and only got a little chocolate on her shirt...Gretchen had chocolate everywhere because she was way more interested in the chocolate than she was the ice cream...a girl after mom's own heart. :)

Today we ran around and did some errands this morning. Since then, we've been sitting around waiting for it to rain and all we've gotten is a sprinkle. We really could use the rain...and then I would have a really good excuse to turn a movie on and have movie day. Guess that's not going to happen.

As for the rest of the week...we're not really sure what we're doing. We should probably figure out what we're going to do for Bob's birthday on Thursday, but neither he nor I have given it much thought. We are on baby watch around here...no, not me. We currently have two friends that are about to deliver. John and Jeanette are unfortunately overdue (due on the 2nd) and I am believing everyday that today is the day...I'm sure they are too. My friend Ami isn't technically due yet, but she was supposed to be induce last Wednesday and they bumped her to today...hopefully...I haven't heard any news yet. Then in August our friend Autumn is due and then of course Barb at the end of the month...and then me! I am ready to be done, but we haven't done a thing to get ready for this baby...so we better get moving.

Before the baby comes we need to paint Rachel (and soon to be Gretchen's) room, get a mattress and box spring for Gretchen, bedding, a new computer desk, move all of the toys to the new toy area (where the computer is now,) move Gretchen downstairs, wash all of the baby boy things, but them away in the bedroom upstairs, get a new infant car seat, new bottles (since the ones I have used for the last 6 years are full of BPA,) and who knows what else. I can get that all done in a day, right? According to my computer we are at T minus 80 days until my due date (which I've never made it to) so I better get moving...hint, hint Bob. Did I mention that Bob and I are going out of town twice before then and we're hoping to get to the lake fishing? Nothing like packing everything in. :)

Oh my god, you guys braved the traffic of an Excelsior fireworks display? I still have horrible flashbacks of the last time we tried to get out of the main strip.. I think it took something to the effect of 2+ hours as well.. Not fun.. Oh yeah, and beware of Officer Fink as well. (There's a story Bob can relate to ya..)
