Where do I start? I feel very confident saying that Rachel has totally given up her Nuk...even if it wasn't without a fight. She still isn't very happy about it, but there aren't too many tears at night anymore. Actually tonight has been the easiest, but it may have to do with the nightlight that I put in her room. She is just getting so big. Her words are so much more understandable now, AND she says the funniest things. I can't remember what it was that I told her this morning, but her response was, "oh cool, momma." She also likes to say things are beautiful and that she's a princess. Well, she is of course. She has also started refering to Gretchen as "little sister." She will walk up to me and ask, "where little sister?"
Gretchen is learning to walk. She took her first steps one week ago tonight and Bob was here to see it. She is just so cute. She is walking all over around the furniture and getting very gutsy to try walking on her own. Soon she'll be running and then Rachel will really have to look out. Gretchen already wants to be just like her big sister. She is also really into food these days. There hasn't been anything that she doesn't like which is sooo nice. I just wasn't ready for another picky eater.
Jaden, who is growing up too fast, had kindergarten round-up yesterday. So, he is officially registered for school and he is definitely not my little baby anymore. He had a lot of fun touring the school and meeting the teachers and the principal. I feel very confident that he will be challenged after talking to the principal. It sounds like they group kids together according to their reading ability and if there isn't anyone in his class at his ability they will group him together with some 1st graders. He also got to ride the school bus, which he won't ride next year thank goodness. We are close enough that we will walk when it's nice out and when it's not it's only like a 5 minute drive there and a 2 minute drive home. (Got you thinking on that one don't I?) He has taken to using some very funny, grown-up language the last few days. This morning I asked him what he wanted to drink for breakfast and he told me juice, "and I would like some cinnamon toast too, of course." He likes to add "of course" in wherever he can fit it.
Jaden and Rachel have been giving puppet plays the last couple of days. They are adorable. A blanket over the piano bench makes a perfect stage. They've been using these balloons on a stick that they got, but I think it's time for some actual puppets.
Well, as far as I know that is the update for the week. I put my spring cleaning list together yesterday and I hate to even look at it. But, it has to be done. I guess a little at a time won't be so bad.
One last thing....Bob is so sweet. I wasn't feeling well when I woke up yesterday morning (I think the house was too dry and I had a little sore throat) after he picked up Jaden from preschool they stopped at the floral shop and got me a big bunch of red tulips. They are beautiful and if I ever download the pictures off of my camera I will post one.
