Well, as you may or may not know, I have basically been without a means of transportation since the middle of June. Yuck, right? First it was Bob's car. Since we didn't really know what was wrong with it and didn't really know if we wanted to put any more money into it we basically didn't do anything for about a month. That meant that he drove my van. Well, his car finally got fixed...and exactly six days later we hit a deer with my van. Off to the body shop it went thinking we would have it back in five days. Well, it ended up to be nearly two weeks. Since I really didn't have anywhere I had to go I decided to hold off on getting a rental. (I yet to understand why when you pay for rental coverage on your insurance...when you have an accident in a vehicle that you have to transport six people, insurance doesn't cover a vehicle that will actually transport six people. What they cover is something that will barely transport four....but that's besides the point.) So, last Sunday I drove Bob's car home, only to realize that it was losing antifreeze at a very fast rate. At that point we decided to lay his car to rest and have spent the last week trying to decide what we were going to do about another car. The light at the end of the tunnel is that we are going to pick his new car up on Sunday and we will once again be mobile. I took the girls with me tonight to the grocery store only to realize that the kids haven't left our property since July 25th. Thankfully the weather has been nice and they are really good at entertaining themselves in our yard.
As for the newest member of our family, Elliott, he is still alive and kicking....or swimming. He has been doing so well that we are getting ready to get him a friend. I feel bad that he has that big tank to himself and I think he needs a girlfriend. Even though Rachel and Gretchen refuse to call him Elliott and insist that he is a girl named Hannah. Still working on a dog...Bob should be happy I'm not saying that I want another baby...which, just for the record I do not. Now, if I could be pregnant and give birth to a two year old I'd have a couple more in a heartbeat. :)
Luke is getting to close to walking. He lets go of things all the time. He finally started taking steps while holding onto my hands today. He's been walking around furniture for a while. I guess it's almost time to have my last "first steps."
My living room windows are open and I can smell someone grilling and it smells wonderful. It makes me excited for the steak we're grilling tomorrow night.
Time to put the rest of the kidlings to bed. :)
