Summer-Fun day 2 - June 12th

Today was our day to get out and do something fun.  We started our day off with a little walk/bike/scooter ride.  There's a bike path near our house and part of it just goes in a circle around the school field.  The kids like going on that one because everyone can go at their own pace and I can still see everyone.  If we go around the loop twice it's a mile.  So, Louie, Luke and I went around twice, Jaden and Rachel went around three times and Gretchen lapped everyone twice and made it around four times.  :)  Another one of our goals this summer is to go to a new park each week.  There's a park in Otsego that Luke and I have gone to a few times, but it's always been when the rest of the kids were in school.  After lunch we headed off to Otsego Regional Park for what was supposed to be a ton of fun.  However, after five minutes I could see that something was up with Luke and found out that he had full undies.  His reasoning for why it happened?  "But Momma, I was too busy having fun to come and tell you I had to go."  So that was the end of our first park trip.  We had a coupe of errands to run and then I had another surprise.  There is the cutest little bakery in Elk River that I have always wanted to stop at.  When I was in high school, my friend Desi and I would stop at the bakery every day after school to get some sort of doughnut or roll and then continue on our walk home.  So, I took the kids to the bakery and let them pick out a roll for a little afternoon snack.  Afterwards we walked down by the river to take a look.  There was more driveway basketball (still don't have a picture of that) and reading.  It was a really good day.  :)

Here's a cute little picture of the kids having a rock concert.  They had made microphones out of legos and were jammin' out to some tunes on Pandora.  I think it was some Alvin and the Chipmunks remake.  :)  I know it's a little blurry, but they were really rockin' out.  :)
