Names...

Do you remember these lines from the movie "Pretty Woman?"

Vivian: Tell me one person who it's worked out for.
Kit: What, you want me to name someone? You want like a name? Oh, the pressure of a name...

That's exactly what I feel like. Why should it be so hard to find a name we like? You'd think that since we've named two girls and only one boy that it should be easy for us to find a boy's name that we like...but it's not. We have been trying to find the perfect boy's name since we were pregnant with Rachel. We knew that Rachel was a girl before she was born, so after the ultrasound we gave up on coming up with a boy's name. We didn't know that Gretchen was a girl before she was born and never did have a boy's name when we went to the hospital. In fact, after being in labor...at the hospital...for a few hours and discussing boy's names, we gave up and decided we'd figure it out after the baby was born if he turned out to be a boy...which thankfully, she wasn't. So, we have been trying to find a boy's name since finding out that we were pregnant with Rachel....just after Mother's Day....2004. That's four years and still no boy's name that we're in love with...we don't really have a boy's name that we're in like with...well, Bob does, but that's another story. (Thankfully kids don't get a vote in the baby naming process or this baby would already have a name...since I would be out voted.)

Now, this doesn't seem to be a problem specific to Bob and I. It seems that every where I turn my friends and family are expecting...and for the most part, no one has a name...or is even close to figuring it out. Sometimes I wish that babies were like Cabbage Patch dolls....you look around the shelf until you find the one with the best name and that's the end of it. But, unfortunately it's not that easy. So, if anyone has any stray names laying around that they don't plan on using...we are definitely up to suggestions. (Barb and Heidi I don't expect any suggestions from you since I know you are both having your own naming problems...but you both have to come up with a boy's and girl's name...so it's doubly the problem...albeit self imposed. ;) ) So, yes...email me your suggestions...I'm just about to the point of putting a bunch of names in a hat and picking one. (And with my luck I would pick one of my friend Jessie's suggestions...CinniBob or Marichino.) :)
